L’unità,
attrezzata con particolari mezzi necessari per la messa a mare di
mede, boe, catenarie, ancore e tralicci, viene normalmente impiegata
nei mari nazionali per l’assistenza ai fari e alle stazioni di
segnalamento marittimo costiero. Essa, inoltre, può fornire
supporto logistico e assicurare il rifornimento d’acqua potabile
e combustibile ad altre navi o ad isole nonché effettuare il
trasporto di tecnici e materiali vari alla rinfusa (munizionamento,
attrezzatura e personale addetto al servizio fari).
A bordo è presente un’ ambulatorio discretamente equipaggiato
in grado di fornire il primo soccorso a naufraghi e persone in difficoltà
coinvolte in calamità naturali.

The
unit, equipped with special means for the launching of beacons, buoys,
chain, anchors and masts, is normally used in national waters to assist
the lighthouses and maritime coastal stations signaling. It also can
provide logistical support and ensure the supply of drinking water
and fuel to other ships or islands and to make the transportation
of various bulk materials, and technical (ammunition, equipment and
service personnel headlights).
On board there is a 'discreet clinic equipped to provide first aid
to survivors and people in difficulty involved in natural disasters.
