Sottomarino della classe U
Questo sommergibile ha trascorso la maggior parte della sua carriera militare nel Mediterraneo, affondando molte navi tra mercantili e militari : La nave mercantile Vichy-Francese Liberia (l'ex Capo Corso greco), il posamine italiano N 10 Aquila, le navi mercantili italiane Leonardo Palomba, Una, Antioco, Citta di Catania e Città di Spezia, le cisterne italiane Castelverde e Teodolinda, la nave ammirabile italiana Amabile Carolina, la pompa ausiliaria italiana Z 90 / Redentore, le navi mercantili tedesche Lisboa, Pommern e Baalbeck e la petroliera francese Henri Desprez.
Il 13 ottobre 1942 affondò la nave da carico italiana LORETO nel Mar Tirreno, sulla costa settentrionale della Sicilia. Loreto stava portando prigionieri di guerra, di cui 130 morirono.
In seguito lanciò gli attacchi senza successo al sommergibile italiano Antonio Sciesa e al piccolo posamine R 212. Il suo obiettivo più importante era l'incrociatore Attilio Regolo, silurato il 7 novembre 1942. Avendo finito i siluri scappò via L'incrociatore danneggiato fu rimorchiato in porto s Polifemo, scortato dalle navi Cigno, Lince e Abba. Un altro attacco da parte di HMS UNITED fallì , ma l' Attilio Regolo restà fuori gioco per il resto della guerra.
Oltre a queste azioni, Unruffled ha partecipato alle operazioni Harpoon e Vigorous.il 18.10.1945 fu posto in riserva a Lisahally. Fu demolito aTroon nel gennaio 1946

Unruffled spent most of her eventful wartime career in the Mediterranean, where she sank the Vichy-French merchant ship Liberia (the former Greek Cape Corso), the Italian auxiliary minesweeper N 10 / Aquila, the Italian merchant ships Leonardo Palomba, Una, Sant'Antioco, Citta di Catania, and Città di Spezia, the Italian tankers Castelverde and Teodolinda, the Italian sailing vessel Amabile Carolina, the Italian naval auxiliary Z 90 / Redentore, the German merchant ships Lisboa, Pommern and Baalbeck and the French tanker Henri Desprez.
On 13 October 1942 Unruffled torpedoed and sank the Italian cargo ship LORETO in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the north coast of Sicily. Loreto was carrying prisoners of war, 130 of whom were killed.
Unruffled launched unsuccessful attacks on the Italian submarine Antonio Sciesa and the small German minesweeper R 212. Her most important target was the Italian Capitani Romani-class cruiser Attilio Regolo, which she torpedoed on 7 November 1942. 60 feet (18 m) of bow were blown off, but Unruffled could not sink the cruiser, having by now run out of torpedoes. The damaged cruiser was towed to port by the tug Polifemo, escorted by the torpedo boats Cigno, Lince and Abba. Another attack by HMS United failed, but Attilio Regolo was out of action for the rest of the war.
As well as these actions, Unruffled took part in operations Harpoon and Vigorous. She was also the recovery vessel for Operation Principal, a chariot attack on Palermo harbour on 3 January 1943.Unruffled survived the War and was scrapped at Troon in January 1946
