L'Admiral
è stato costruito a St. Louis da Streckfus Steamers Inc. nel
1938 - 1940 come una barca da escursione laterale. Il suo scafo è
venuto dall'ex trasferimento ferroviario Albatross costruito nel 1907.
Ha 374 metri di lunghezza e 92 piedi di larghezza e aveva una capacità
per 4.400 passeggeri. Nell'inverno 1973 - 1974 è stata convertita
in supporti diesel, uno in ogni paddlebox.
Admiral
was built in St. Louis by Streckfus Steamers Inc. in 1938 - 1940 as
a side excursion boat. The shell of her came from the former Albatross
rail transfer built in 1907. She was 374 feet long and 92 feet wide
and had capacity for 4,400 passengers. In the winter of 1973-1974
she was converted to diesel mounts, one in each paddlebox.
