INFORMAZIONI STORICHE

Varata il 17 novembre 1928 e consegnata nel gennaio del ‘29 nei cantieri navali Kockums Mekaniska Verkstad Malmo in Svezia alla Kommandit Dr. Max Albrecht, Hamburg. Prese il nome di ‘’Max Albrecht”. Dal dicembre 1936 all’ inizio del 1937 fu noleggiata dalla marina militare per approvvigionare le unità tedesche nella guerra civile in Spagna.
Nel 1939, a inizio ostilità, si spostò nel porto di El Ferrol (Spagna) per rifornire i sommergibili U-Boot, ma fu sequestrata
dal regime Spagnolo e consegnata agli Inglesi. Nel 1945 cambiò il nome in ‘’Empire Tagralia’’ e navigò fino al 1947
per conto del Ministry of War Transport quando La Basra Steam Shipping Co.
London l’acquistò e le diede il nome ‘’Repton’’ gestendola fino al 1952. Nello stesso anno il Lloyd Siciliano di armamento Marittimo di Palermo l’acquistò a Livorno e le diede il nome Alcantara. Fu noleggiata alla SNAM che l’armò con il proprio personale e rilevandola definitivamente nel 1958. Nel 1959 fu posta in disarmo e demolita a Vado Ligure nel marzo 1960.
A differenza delle altre navi aziendali, la ciminiera riportava la scritta SNAM e non Agip.Nel 1952 l'ENI con sede in Roma stipulò un contratto con una società anglo egiziana per cui le navi sociali cominciarono ad effettuare viaggi tra Wadi Feiran e Ras Garib. Venne armata dalla Snam la nave "Alcantara" che fece la spola tra I Laghi Amari e Latakia attraverso il Canale di Suez. Nel 1956 scoppiò la guerra tra Egitto e Francia-Inghilterra-Israele, il canale di Suez fu bloccato e con essa rimase bloccata la nave Alcantara.

From December 1936 to 'beginning of 1937 was chartered by the Navy to supply the German units in the civil war in Spain.
In 1939, at the beginning of hostilities, he moved to the port of El Ferrol (Spain) to supply the submarine U-Boot, but was seized
from Spanish and delivered to the British regime. In 1945 he changed its name to '' Empire Tagralia '' and sailed until 1947
