costruita nel 1969 come portacontainer con il nome Annie Johnson,
gemella della Axel Johnson, poi ribattezzata COSTA
MARINA. Nel 1992 era stata acquistata da Costa Crociere che
l'aveva praticamente ricostruita e trasformata in nave da crociera
presso i cantieri Mariotti di Genova, ribattezzandola Costa Allegra.
Nel dettaglio, nel corso di un intervento durato due anni la nave
era stata divisa in due e vi era stato aggiunto un blocco lungo 13
metri e mezzo, largo 25 e dal peso di 800 tonnellate.È stata
sottoposta a ulteriori lavori di restauro nel 2001.
Il 27 febbraio 2012, alle 10:30 circa (ora italiana) in navigazione dal Madagascar per Victoria (Seychelles) scoppio un incendio in sala macchine che generò un black out totale , rimasero funzionanti solo i sistemi di comunicazioni di emergenza. L'ultima posizione era a circa 200 miglia dalla costa delle Isole Alphonse. mA bordo vi erano 636 passeggeri e 413 membri dell'equipaggio. La nave nell'impossibilità di manovrare si trovava alla deriva nell'oceano indiano, il 28.02.2012, fu presa a rimorchio da un peschereccio d'altura francese (TREVIGNON) che la rimorchio fino alle Seychelles dove giunse il 01.03.2012. Fortunatamente non vi furono feriti. Dopo aver effettuato le riparazioni necessarie a consentire la navigazione, la nave era rientrata con i propri mezzi nel porto di Savona il 25 marzo 2012. Spostata a Genova a fine luglio, il mese successivo era stata venduta per la demolizione e rinominata Santa Cruise. Nei primi giorni di novembre è stata demolita.
It
was built in 1969 as a container ship with the name Annie Johnson,
twin of the Axel Johnson, later renamed COSTA
MARINA. In 1992 she was bought by Costa Cruises who practically
rebuilt her and transformed her into a cruise ship at the Mariotti
shipyard in Genoa, renaming her Costa Allegra. In detail, in the course
of a two-year intervention, the ship was divided in two and a block
13 and a half meters long, 25 meters wide and weighing 800 tons was
added. It was subjected to further restoration works in 2001. On

Moved to Genoa at the end of July, the following month it was sold for demolition and renamed Santa Cruise. In early November she was demolished.
