Ship
Capri is the last in order of time units of a class of six ships of
the type Transport Coastal Moto which make up the Gorgon class.
The ship is set to December 19, 1985 at the shipyard of Ancona Mario Morini and launched June 18, 1987 with the name of MTC in 1016, only to be later delivered to the Navy 16 September 1987. On 14 April 1988 the General Staff of Marina has the assignment to the Unity of the name of Moto Coastal Transport (MTC) Capri. Back in September 1987, the Capri began his long career at sea, facing the first waves in the Adriatic Sea, from the port of Ancona for the first training missions outputs, and the following month the unit performs the first transfer to Venice. On 22 October 1987 Ship Capri part to move in Taranto (site of entry of the ship), and after a stop in Puglia sorgitore, in November, he moved to Naples, home of his assignment. E 'starting from this port of Capri Tyrrhenian that take place in the early years of his long career, intense and varied activity, divided between logistic support with interdepartmental transport of tools and materials, participation in sessions of the Naval Command School (during which is operated by Lieutenants goers, next to the first experience of Command), promotion and representation and exercises. In the late 80s the changed operational requirements determine the change of assignment Unit port from Naples moved to La Spezia, its current headquarters location. On 14 October 2013, the unit changed its organic / operational dependence by passing ships assigned to the Department of Maritime Command of the Northern Tyrrhenian to the Command of the Mine Countermeasures Force and Auxiliary Forces based in La Spezia. In January of 2014 Ship Capri conducted a major collaborative activities with the Italian Army; a training event called "FIELD TRAINING EXERCISE (FTX)" TO TREMITI 'aimed at increasing the level of interoperability between the different structures of the Armed Forces. On 01 December 2014, the unit changed its organic / operational dependence by passing ships assigned to the Department of the Northern Tyrrhenian Maritime Command to the Command of Unit Auxiliary Flotilla (COMFLOTAUS) based in La Spezia. In May 2014 the unit is deployed in sorgitore of Ancona, in the month of August 2014, it becomes his new seat assignment. Data
